Zim shipping to call ICTT COCHIN

Integrated shipping services company Zim shipping will add Cochin Port to its weekly call schedule from March 26.

It is stated in a Press release that the service to the Indian port is initiated as part of its Asia-Med-Europe (AME) revision of service that would start from Zim China with the port rotation passing thru Xiamen, Shanghai, Da Chan Bay, Port Keland, Cochin, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Alexandria, Ashdod, Haifa, Mersin., etc.

“The Cochin direct calling in addition to existing Nhava Sheva and Mundra call by our AME service will further strengthen our presence in the India market. Apart from the direct loading cargo, we will also serve the Tuticorin and Colombo cargo with transshipment via Cochin”, added the Press release.

On the revision of AME service, Mr. Rafi Ben Ari, Vice President of Zim Shipping, said Zim restructured its network to enhance the carrier service between Asia to East Mediterranean and Black Sea to offer a dedicated, synchronized links by trade. “The revised network presents an improved alignment, better suited to our customers’ requirements with improved coverage, reliability and availability,” he noted.

The Indian subcontinent to Europe trade will be served with the following rotation: Hamburg, Germany; Antwerp, Belgium; Tilbury, England; Nhava Sheva; Mundra; and Hamburg again. Mediterranean-North Europe trade will be served by 2 loops: North Europe Service 1 (NE1): Felixtowe – Rotterdam – Hamburg – Antwerp  – Le Havre – Ashdod – Alexandria – Haifa  – Ashdod -Valencia – Felixtowe.  North Europe Service 2 (NE2) include Felixtowe – Rotterdam – Bremerhaven – Antwerp – Haifa – Limassol – Alexandria – Ashdod – Salerno – Felixtowe.
